One of the first test items for learning to read is to learn the sounds of the alphabet.
The first step is to teach a child to identify there letters.
The second step is to teach them the process of what the letters sounds are.
Combing site and identifying their letters is the initially steps.
Once this has been accomplished they are not ready to identify, sound out, and begin to read.
When a child learnes the process in steps it allows them not to fill overwhelmed. While learning to identify there letters in preschool and kindergarten it becomes an exciting new process. As they advance in there school grades they take there basic lessons and combinded them in order to build a foundation. Once this is done they begin more confident and reading flows from this process.
